Barack Obama has done the most unusual thing that a political leader can ever do. He has spoken the truth.
In talking about the need for parents to get more involved with their children he has said what has needed saying for a long time.
Obama’s comments were even reported in one of Spain’s free daily newspapers, ADN.
They reported Obama as saying “Any idiot can have a child but you need a lot of courage to be a dad. Many fathers are going missing in action and the problem is huge in our black community.”
I have not been particularly inspired by Obama until now. If he makes it to the White House he is sure to disappoint in many areas. But when you put his comments on parenting alongside his plans to tax the rich in the USA, even the skeptics amongst us must be enthused.
